This has been retired. I have a full, unused tin but that's not enough for the hull. What should I do? Use an alternative or mix and match?

One application (two coats) of Uno did two seasons successfully for me down Atlantic coast to Med.

I swapped from Cruiser Uno to Cruiser Uno (EU) last year. It was a bad move, fouling was much worse, and I'm looking for something else for Portsmouth Harbour this year.

I'd prefer an eroding antifoul, suggestions welcome.

I've used Seajet Shogun this year, with very good results and hardly any growth. Am based in Port Solent.

What a coincidence, I was just wondering the same and a search of the web came up with this thread.

I have a couple of 3l tins of the stuff sitting on a garage shelf waiting for spring.

I’ve always used Cruiser Uno for a motor-boat so when we swapped to a yacht a couple of years ago I continued with the same AF. The current AF is the Uno EU version and was doing well after 18 months when swam under the boat at the end of summer. There was a little slime and some weed growth at the water-line on the side of the boat that gets the sunshine on it in the marina. A quck brush had it clean again.

As an aside. When I last antifouled the motorboat I used an old tin that covered the forward half of the hull but wasn’t enough for the whole boat. I bought a second tin but picked the light blue by accident instead of navy which looked a little odd when applied to the remaining hull. I reasoned that no one would notice when it was in the water… Except that I then sold the boat after buying the yacht. Nothing was said about the colour scheme.

I also used the Cruiser Uno EU for the season just gone. At haul-out earlier this week the yard guys said “how long has she been in the water?” Not impressed so I’m reading any recommendations with interest and I shall not be using Uno next season.

The main difference between Uno and Uno EU was that they left the fungicide out of the Uno EU. ( they may have increased the CuO a bit I forget)

Cruiser 250, which replaces Uno EU, looks pretty much the same at first glance.

I use seajet shogun and it works great. Cost a little more than the Uno but worth every penny. Marine super store and force4 both sell it for £79.95

I used Micron for several years with good result, but did not fancy froking out £120 a tin for the new untried Micron 350. I also switched to Shogun 033 and the boat has just been out for its half yearly scrub. No barnacles, just a bit of slime, I'd say the performance was very much on a par with the Micron. The boat is in Haslar Marina.

I used Micron too, but after a bumper barnacle crop in the unusually warm year to last July - literally sheets of the things - I decided on a change. I used Seajet 39 ‘platinum’, a two-part solution where you mix in the copper oxide at the time of use. I’m hopeful, but I recognise that decent comparative evidence on any of this is really hard to get.

Orginally based in the Solent and now in Poole, I have always antifouled annually using Cruiser Uno or Cruiser Uno EU for the last 4 years. According to the literature, 3 coats of Seajet 033 Shogun should last 2 seasons. Will it in these areas?

I don't see why not. It's noticeable that when you brush the Seajet, you don't get the clouds of A/F in the water that you did with the Micron, I'm assuming that's because it's harder, but have no actual experience to answer your question.
