I spent Easter week in North Wales, sailing from Porthmadog to Barmouth, then over to Pwllheli and back to Porthmadog. It was bloody freezing in the easterlies. I took a few minutes of video crossing to Pwllheli in an F5 gusting to F6. I was carrying two reefs in the main and just my staysail out front. My yankee didn't see the light of day. That said, I saw 7.2kts on the GPS, 6.8kts shown in the video.

I'm hoping it won't be like this in Chichester Harbour this coming weekend.

It always nice to see someone out there just doing it. Nice boat too.

Hope you managed to get some power for your heater when you got to Barmouth!
We eventually left the pontoon at Madoc on Saturday when the wind dropped and the temperature improved :-)

We did, yes, but we were pinned down and had an uncomfortable night. That's why we did a runner from there, and Pwllheli was a beam reach. :)
