Cuxhaven to Hamble is roughly 500 NM. With perfect conditions this yacht delivery would have taken 4 days. It is February though, so it took nearly 2 weeks!

Here is a short video showing some of the highlights (including a visit from the Dutch customs).

Is it good business to shame your customers?

I don't think it is shaming anyone. She is a fine vessel and in very good order. It is completely normal for us to have to stow things. Part of the preparation process involves checking through the vessel. Testing the sytems. Looking at the through fittings etc etc. It is important to know where everything is kept in case of emergencies. We deliver lots of yachts that have been lived on, so organising personal kit and clothing is often part of the job!

I delivered a new Hanse 505 in March 2014, crew of 4 in total, from the factory in Greifswald on the Baltic to Hamble via the Keil canal, took us 8 days, it was the coldest sailing I've ever known with a couple of days of 25 knot winds and various bits falling off.
We went Stralsund, Rendsburg, Cuxhaven, Ijmuiden, Brighton, Hamble.

We had the Dutch customs board us too, they spent an hour onboard going through the paperwork but were very friendly.

I re-read the Baltic Almanac on the way out and was reminded the sailing season is generally June to September - took two sets of thermals, wore them both on the couple of overnights we did.

On balance I enjoy warmer climes
