Crossing the english channel in a kayak, looking for a free support boat

I know this might be a bit naive but my friend and I have planned on crossing the channel in a kayak since months and we don't have the money for a support boat. Would there be anybody who'd be willing to "watch over us" ? We want to cross it from France (possibly from Calais or something but it doesn't really matter) on august 19, 20 or 21 (or if not possible, some other time).
