A couple of weeks ago I was introduced for the first time to this forum. I asked some advise about our upcomming crossing, which was the first one. Now, sitting at home, safely returned from our Ramsgate adventure I would like to thank all those forum members who contributed on both sailing tips and local knowledge (pub advice).

May your future contributions be as helpfull!

Cheers, Rene.

You weren't the Dutch yacht that got stuck on the Goodwins last week then? The third so far this year.

Glad you had a good trip, maybe our paths crossed as we went to Holland from Dover last week. Which route did you follow?

No, we didn't hit the banks, although we were a little too close to them (without being in danger). Just a little bit too positive from our Northern route along the Southbound tide. We came to Ramsgate on Sunday 30th of May, from Breskens (a good 95 miles trip). We had quite some fun, although hit some showers along the coast. Went back to Oostende the following Wednesday. Big rolls at a good 4bft 130 degrees wind. Those 55 miles were one big race! Did wave at all the UK boats within sight during the crossing, perhaps some forum members...... We were on a Bav 32, our friends were sailing a Scanner 391.

More crossings will follow withing the near future!
