Crocs

Some say they are the best boat shoe ever invented and have been discussed in great detail on here.

Personally I would not be seen dead in them but I guess the proof is in the volume they sell.

Bizarrely enough I was discussing the merits of them at a wake yesterday (honestly!) and spoke to someone who sells them for a living in huge volumes.

I am in the wrong game....

Thanks, I will do a quick search /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

well there's nothing worse, they've seen the boat anchored, you arrive on a pebble beach by dinghy, everyone's looking at you, the dog's got his lead round your legs, (he has to be on his lead after arriving once not on a lead & peeing on a kids clothes on the beach) you jump off professionally with the dinghy rope, only to crumple & as you can't move, cos the pebbles are so sharp. Or not if you are wearing crocs.

I like mine, use them for slippers on the boat and arriving on beaches. Think dark colours are ok for guys.

Daka, they aren't too girlie if you choose the right colour. Certainly not pink - if you think you are macho enough! The biggest problem that I find is that you cannot adjust the fit & mine are slightly on the big side. Thus, if I put the Crocs on before I go onto the boat there is a risk of the stupid things falling off into the murky waters off the marina.

Kipper, what are you suggesting? I'm about to get married for the second time &, sadly, I'll never see 21, or 31, or,...well you get the drift, again.

I've got three pairs (black, dark blue, and white) and they're excellent. Too girlie? Possibly, but I'm comfortable with my metrosexuality so I don't care. They're light and supremely comfortable, ideal for slobs like me who are too lazy to bend down and actually do up a proper pair of shoes. You can wear them on the boat, at the beach, in restaurants, pretty much anywhere (I've even worn mine to weddings).

The down side is that when the soles wear down they lose all grip and become a positive danger in the wet. Prolonged wearing of Crocs allows your feet to spread, so none of my proper shoes fit any more unless they're a really wide fit.

Get some...they're great.

I am enthused, TK macs is about 30 miles from here but if I leave now I think I can make it before they close.

I was going for light brown but Deborah has concerned me, Black seams a bit Goth , perhaps dark purple ?

Best things since fried bread, They dont slip dont rot are comfortable & great all round boaty shoe. Dont worry about Kipper they still wear clogs in the Nth west & the old 501 jeans are still worth a fortune as the sheep have got wise to the sound of zips /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They close at 7 o clock here, you should have plenty of time if it's the same where you are /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bought myself a great nightshirt yesterday:
