I am chartering a yacht from Murter intending to explore the islands and am looking for some local knowledge on the best way to take money. Most of the prices I have seen are in Euros and there is a limit of 2000 kuna, approx £200, for the import of their currency.
I’m not sure how available ATMs will be in the islands or how widely credit cards will be accepted.
Should I take UK£ or Euros in addition to the 2000 kuna I am allowed or will I find ATMs and credit cards best option.
Any experience appreciated

interested to read this as I am booked on a Croatian Flotilla with Sailing Holidays soon. I checked with them; there is no limit but the exchange rate is so much better over there they recommend taking the minimum for the first few days, and then using ATMs.

Hope this helps.

There is no problem along the coast , but somewhere on Islands there is no ATMs, but there you have Post offices where you can take money from all CC.
But the best way is to take money in cash with you ( better Euros than Pounds).
For your calculation here are a few prices for common things we use on sea:
Beer 3 dcl 2 EUR
Caffe 1 EUR
1 kg tomatoes 1,5 EUR
Marina night 35EUR
Restaurant 1 kg fish 40EUR
Restaurant 1 bottle wine 15EUR
Enjoy ( take a lot money with you)!
