Croatia - Upping the prices again! Have they heard of recession?

The prices are going up again in Croatia. Marina price increases announced for 2010 up to 9% (so far heard). Maybe they want us to stay out of Croatian waters! They will succeed shortly. Bad news for the individual yachtsman and no doubt the charter companies will pass on the extra cost to their customers. And don't think you can avoid the charges by anchoring in a quiet bay - the creeping disease of the "Knock at Dusk" seeking anchoring fees is spreading!!

Turkey - here we come!

Never had any reason or thoughts of going there, OK beautiful they say, but the food/wine is ****/expensive and the service worse, plus of course the prices are going up all the time, from reliable sources, anyway. Difficult to fly to and cold/wet/dead in the winter.

Croatia for Albania

I've been in Punat, in the north of C for 2 years and am thinking of moving now. A complication is that we live in Vienna, so for us it is currently a 5.5hour drive, not too bad. We could go to Sukosan, but the marina is a giant soulless boat part. Advantage here is that it is v close to Zadar airport, for the brits that visit, though there aren't so many of them really.
I'm considering going to Albania (there is a pretty good and low priced Marina, and this gives a quick hop into the Ionian. any opinions?
It's a flight away, but the saving would more than pay for the airfares.
