I've been in Croatia for the last two seasons and have met very few people who cruise the area. I pretty much only see the one week charter guys. Would be nice to meet up with a few other people who sail around the area over the summer. If theres anyone else sailing (mobo - yes, you're invited too.) around the area, what would you think of a meet up in May sometime ?

Also, heres a link to some anchorages around the area that a few of us on here put together last year (if anyone wants to add to it contact me and I'll give you access) - https://www.google.pl/maps/ms?msid=207241514525393009702.0004d53521e718b73c6d4&msa=0

I'll be there in May, but on a two-week charter from Trogir.

I haven't been to Croatia for several years and find I have several hundred Kuna in small (10-200) notes. Do I have any chance of changing them to Euros in a Croatian bank?

Mike.

They haven't changed over to the euro yet. So you'll be able to spend them anywhere you want ;) I think the exchange rate is approx 7kn to 1euro

Anyway. Be good if we could get a few boats together. Let's see if anyone else is interested.

Oh, thanks for that; hadn't realised. The organiser of our charter had said:
When we arrive at Split we will need to pay in Euros for transfers to Trogir, and a further €145 between us for service pack and transit log, plus shopping etc. for which we should be able to use a credit card.
The exchange rate to Euros is high at the moment, especially if ordered on-line.
and I had misconstrued that. Haven't bought Euros yet, but will need them in Greece later in the year anyway...

We've been based there 3 seasons now (Kremik, north of Split). We were just planning to do a season in each country but have enjoyed Croatia so much it is difficult to leave. But finally we are off to a year based in Corfu, sailing this Easter.

Good list of anchorages but it just has one of my two favourite ones, Krknasje, which we like to stay for the first and last nights of our holidays. Completely idyllic and although crowded we've always got a space near the beach by waiting for the motorboats to leave after 18:00. The missing anchorage is the most beautiful we have found in Croatia so far, and even in July has one or no yachts overnighting apart from us. That's Pokrivenik on the north side of Hvar. We tend to go there to recuperate from heavy nights in Jelsa.

I'll have to add our 2013 anchorages to the Google map. I keep a record of them all on OpenCPN so I have them here at home.

Rupert - we moved AJAY to Kremik - berth C63 - this Christmas. Had a lovely week there just after Christmas. The pontoon is so long that we are almost on the other side of the bay!

We are hoping to be there for the last week or two this month - working on boat rather than sailing probably - but then won't be back until July so May is out for us. Would be great to meet up if anyone is near Kremik later this month, otherwise July / August.

..mmmm....you're unlikely to find a cheap marina in Croatia. However last year we arranged and left our yacht in the ACI marina in Vrboska on Hvar for 4 weeks for around 800 euros. They were extremely helpful and accomodating and the boat was kept very securely - the marina is very sheltered anyway. Getting home via taxi/ferry/bus to the airport at Split happened quite smoothly for us and also enabled a lookat at Split town as we didn't go in there with the yacht. PM for more info. if interested.

Hi Kevin

Lyn from Nera, in Split here. Thank you very much for putting Nadia in touch last week.
However, I stupidly deleted her message from my mobile, so no longer have it to call her back. Do you have an email address or mobile no for her please?

Hope your season's going well.

We just got to the boat on Saturday and have now fully unpacked and provisioned up, so hope to have guests onboard very soon.

Thanks again for the lead...
Best
Lyn n John
