I am heading to Split on Saturday for two weeks charter on a 49ft sailing yacht. Was there last year end of June for 2 weeks and found it not to busy. I have been told that it is really busy at the moment and getting worse.
Can anyone give me an update as to how busy it really is at the moment. Are yachts being turned away from marinas because they are full. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

was there last year in August 10-15th
Split - Vodice - Tribunj - Kryka etc etc
and it was very busy
Marinas used to get empty at 1000 AM in the morning with boats moving to some other place, but at 1200 hours it used to be already full
best thing to do is to move early in the morning from the berth go to the next marina reserve a place and then go for a bath....
hope I was helpful, have a nice time it is a wonderful place

Extracts from Swagman's blog - he's there now:

"Moved on Sunday over to the ACI Marina on Palmezana Island opposite Hvar. It was half empty when we arrived 1430, but soon filled up with a new group of charter boats seemingly most out of Split."

"The anchorage bay east of Korkula town we used last time was similarly empty when we arrived, but by nightfall absolutely chokker with yachts. Ate out and had a great meal and good live duo singing. Luckily a windless night so no dramas, despite close proximity to lots of others. Seems July is much busier than June; goodness knows what August might be like."

It is very busy in July/August especially near any of the charter bases and off the fashionable spots like Hvar and Korcula. Gets easier if you're happy on the hook in more distant anchorages. We're heading for Montenegro, even tho it means paying for another cruising permit.
