Saw this delightful motor boat in the marina...
What a handsome, powerful little ship! Love it. I would have one anyday - well for windless days anyway, and she is for sale... but no, shock, horror, that should not be allowed - not the price (a mere £79,000) - the problem is the builders have called her a "Kim's Picnic Boat."
Surely that is a crime akin to Datsun calling their nice little car of a few years back a "Cherry". How could I tell the lads down at' pub that I have bought a "Kims Picnic Boat". Surely they could have called it an Offshore Interceptor, or a Rampart or a Super Sabre or Sea King or something - anything other than a "Picnic boat". If the distinguished builders want to pay me a hansdome consultancy fee I could guide them in the right direction as to what constitues an acceptable name for a seaboat on these shores.
