Sorry if this has been previously posted I have not had time to trawl the forum.

Crewsaver issues lifejacket safety warning
09 Oct 2007

PRODUCT RECALL: Crewsaver’s lifejacket servicing department says there is a problem with the United Moulders' Mk3 Standard Automatic Head fitted to Crewfit and Survivor inflatable lifejackets.

Tests indicate that this component, which was fitted to Crewfit and Survivor lifejackets manufactured before 1997, is now at the end of its safe and usable life and should be replaced.
Crewsaver insists it’s essential that the head replacement be undertaken by the company. ‘On no account should you attempt to replace this yourself,’ said Crewsaver.

The company strongly recommends that owners of Crewfit or Survivor lifejackets with an Mk3 Standard Automatic Head fitted should contact Crewsaver on + 44 (0)2392 528621 or email sales@crewsaver.co.uk to discuss the replacement process

Hi Rickp
I cut and pasted an email that was sent out to the trade requesting that the safety info was passed on, I done just that. As stated I did not have the time to troll the forum to find out if the subject had already been covered.
P.S I have never sold the brand of product in question but I am making enquiries as to whether this piece of equipment has been used in other named or branded products that I may have sold, in which case the warning needs to be expanded to other product names for the same obvious safety reasons. I have nothing to gain from my post, other than a clear conscience, I was passing on a potential lifesaveing piece of information if indeed it is an adverising ploy by crewsaver fine. My concious is still clear. If you would all prefer, for the trade to keep out of the ybw forums which a vast majority of us do because of this type of cheap shot statement, and not pass our information as we receive it FINE. Have fun, I hope your lifejacket works when you need it.

Regards
