crew wanted for Channel crossing

My wife and I are visitors from Australia having recently bought a small catamaran Hirondelle (24ftin Plymouth), cruised thru' Kennot & Avon canals (mast down)& have got as far as SouthEnd. Plan to cross Channel b 4 going into French canals from Dover,we are looking for experienced crew for the Channel crossing, can fit in with any time in the next 10 days or so.

Sorry I cant help, but recommend that you become fully aware of the Transit Shipping Scheme requirements otherwise it could be expensive.

Make sure your charts are also up to date for that area

Check your radio frequencies.

Monitor radio carefully, to check for any shipping - there will be plenty.

Make sure you ask Dover Port Control, for permission to enter/exit harbour.
This will usually be the West 'Entrance', closest to the marina.
Needs care entering/exiting due to the strong tides that run across this entrance.

The east entrance normally reserved for Channel Ferries & Dover port control will also advise if you can transit this area. Give them plenty of warning before approach.

Also, get yourself a French courtesy flag for that side.

PS, don't compare their red stuff with Jacobs Creek
They tend to get a bit precious about some things.
