Looking for crewing opportunities?

If you are based on the East Coast, or are able to travel there ... if you are currently boat-less but want to get on the water .... if you are good company and able to stand your round in the bar ....

I am currently on the lookout for crew for 2011. I try to sail most weekends from about Easter to about end of October.

My boat is booked to come out for winter maintenance at the end of October, so there is not much of 2010 season left, but anyone who wants to help with winter maintenance is unlikely to be turned away :D

PM me if interested

Thanks to everyone who has replied. I will be in touch in the New Year to fix dates etc.

In the meantime, I am replying to my own post to bring it back to the top again as I am still keen to make contact with people who want to spend their weekends sailing.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Top crew spot

Not that Bernie needs it but I would like to recommend sailing with her...

I have been a regular crew for Bernie for the last few years and we have always had a great time. The boat is well found, Bernie is as safe as you can get but without being boring. Discusses the plan with the crew so everyone knows what to expect and likes to get as much out of a weekend cruise as the tides/weather will allow. It's partly because of sailing with Bernie that I've gained the confidence to get my own boat this season - otherwise I would still be crew.

We even won racing trophies...:D

An added bonus is you will also get to meet a lot of the very nice peeps from the East Coast forum too (so bring your drinking boots)

So if you can stand your round at the bar, like the best cooked on board breakfasts and want to get some decent hands on sailing in on a smashing, very quick boat then put your name on the list.

(Hope I havent overstepped the mark Bernie ;) Px)

Crew wanted for 2011 seson

dear eastcoastbernie,

I am responding to your forum post for crew in 2011. I live in Leigh on Sea, I currently own a half share in a Moody 27 which unfortunately is up for sale as my boatshare partner is emigrating to Canada in the summer. I will not be replacing it so I am looking for other sailing options in 2011 and beyond. I have a RYA Day Skipper certificate and some limited experience of passage making by day and night over 100 miles. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you think I may be a suitable candidate for a cruise.

Kind regards,

Hi eastcoastbernie,

I live in Ipswich and my partner in Kent. We have both passed competent crew and shorebased day skipper and are doing the practical day skipper over Easter weekend.
So if you are still looking for crew we would love to get out on the water.

Jane
