Crew opportunity wanted - August 2013 - anywhere

Hi there,

I am a 26-year-old British woman with about 18 years of sailing experience. I'm currently taking the RYA Day Skippers Theory and Practical courses, which I'm due to complete on 14th July. In order to consolidate what I will learn, I'm looking for some opportunities to crew for all of August. I'm incredibly eager to learn and put my hand to anything that needs to be done. I'm very flexible to do any crewing job needed and can get to any location to meet the boat.

Brief background: Aside from the Day Skippers, I've been brought up on dinghies (RYA Grade 4). In terms of ocean sailing experience, I crewed on Bark Europa, a Dutch tall ship during the 2009 Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge race and have about 1,000 miles under my belt. I am friendly, good fun, enthusiastic and a keen learner. I have a passion for travel (I have lived in Brazil, France and Portugal) and would like to combine this with my love for sailing and meeting new people.

I'm taking my gaff cutter "Jacinta" to Cowes for the Old Gaffers festival. I have crew to get there, but due to crews priorities, getting back to the East Coast is becoming problematical. Fancy helping me after 18th August? I can send more details of me and the boat.

Currently in Ramsgate after the most challenging part of the trip through the Thames estuary.
I am retired, a smoker, and have owned the boat for about 7 years.
you may find the boat a bit primitive 'cos she is so small and wooden, therefore wet.
3 berths.

But she's great fun to sail, and seems seaworthy enough. I am well equipped with safety gear.
