Crew Change Near Athens

Any suggestions on the best place to change crew near Athens? I'll be coming from Hydra and heading back out to Kythnos. My daughter is flying into Athens at 9:00pm and needs to be able to get a taxi to wherever I'm at. I'd like to avoid a marina if possible but do need a quay for the changeover.

We used Porto Rafti east of Athens Airport. 20 mins by taxi and about 20 Euros. Small quay but large bay with plenty of space.

If you don't really want to go all the way up there to come back down again she could get the seacat from Piraeus to Hydra the next morning? Others have recommended the place linked to below for an overnight close to Athens airport & he does airport pickups...

Is there anything near Cape Sounion? I'll have to check my pilot when I get a chance. Porto Rafti will take an additional 6 hours round trip.

Thanks for the suggestion. That is what I was going to do originally. She's only 18 and I'm pretty protective. It will be better to get her so I don't have to go all "Taken" on someone

There are three marinas close to Glyffada just down the coast from the Airport. They don't usually accommodate long stays but will usually fit you in for 24 hours for a pick up. Taxi from airport takes around 30 mins and Glyfadda is good for restocking. On occasions we've been accommodated for a quick pickup for €20 in a brown envelope.

There's Olympic (Lavrion) marina at Cape Sounion. Not my favourite spot but it is a full-service marina with plenty of room relatively close to the airport. It would be handy for a crew change.

Vouliagmeni Marina (Large yacht haven) is sort of "near" Cape Sounion. They might give you a free berth for the night if you agree to eat in their restaurant, they did us a few years back. Otherwise, you can always try Kalamaki (Alimos) which is the usual choice.

will suggest to drop anchor off marina alimou/kalamaki - please see the chart
on the beach is a nice coffee / restaurant and only 50 m from the bus stop, just cross the road
there is an express bus, airport - piraeus, with bus-stop at edem (posidon hotel)
with the dingy the crew change can be done very easy
in case of bad weather or whatever, always can enter the marina for a day
for which date is the crew change?

If it's not a weekend, consider Lavrion quayside. Laid lines to the quay belong to charter companies, usually vacant during the week, but little space at weekends. If weekends, choose your space from the places listed in http://www.jimbsail.info/mediterranean/greece/athens#Athens%20Coast. Alimos usually works, with tram direct from airport.

As Jim says, lots of space midweek in Lavrion and reasonably priced, but they throw you out on Friday when the charter fleet returns. Olympic tends to be full always, no visitor berths when we were there.

Thanks all, I think I'll head to Lavrion. That looks best and I can deal with the marina for a few days. Appreciate the help.
