Experienced blue water sailors only needed for possibly arduous trip. We'll need to spend approximately 2 weeks preparing the boat whilst we await a weather window. Valeting, engine servicing, varnishing etc experience vital, though materials will be provided at no cost. You will need return taxi fare and a sense of adventure. Skipper may need to leave boat during initial prep period though he will be available by telephone in case of queries.

Oh no please don't be so hasty, you sound highly qualified (though I'm a tad worried about your avatar, given the proposed prep). I should have mentioned that Mothers Pride and possibly Olivio spread will be provided so no cheapskate breadmaking duties required.

Cheaper option:-

Call QHM after leaving PS. Advise engine probs. Nice Harbour Patrol peeps will arrive. Request tow to Gosport. All sorted. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

As long as I can pee off the deck through the portholes/windows, I'm up for it. Or do you have airconditioning, and will keep them closed?

what a sarky ratbag!

However, i note you hail from the very same marina from which i heard a passage plan being posted on ch68 which mentioned destination as Newtown Creek and"four souls on board" so er perhaps this is for real?

Well I once tried to get to Gran Canaria from Gibraltar, but ended up on the rocks in Casablanca. The story was even printed in YM. Even so Eamonn, I don't think I'm up for a trip of this magnitude - age (and cowardice) is catching up on me. However, the best of luck - personally I think you're mad, but there's always been a bit of the adventurer in you.
