To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Crete's union with Greece the sailing clubs of Crete have got together to create the first Cretan Union Cup regatta. The racing is open to all, though registration before-hand is required. There will be racing over seven days at the major ports along the north coast of Crete (Chania, Rethymnon, Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos).
Full details, rules, schedule, and an entry form can be found at http://www.cucup.org/en. This will be of particular interest of course to people wintering in Agios Nikolaos, but the weather is usually fairly kind in this area right through to the end of November so anyone wintering in the Aegean or western Turkey could also take part.
