Creek Crawling at Half Term

I fancy learning a bit more about my local waters (BYH) at half term. I usually go further afield but it will probably be cold and rainy. I will have a novice crew, so a bit of gentle genoa sailing fits the bill.
Any suggestions? Draught 1.4m. Good anchor. 1 overnight stop anticipated.
What is the etiquette at Paglesham? Can I simply pick up a spare mooring buoy?

A friend picked up a buoy at Pag for a lunch stop on Sunday and dragged it half way across the river! Anchoring in Yokesfleet might be safer

Or could go up river to fambridge, bouys or pontoon available ..

Anchoring in Yokesfleet is magical. There are usually a dozen or more seals on the banks at LW who peer at you calmly as you pass, and if you are out in the dinghy will often follow you. You cannot (or are not allowed to) get ashore there though. The creeks towards Havengore and Paglesham are fun to wander around, but get your tidal calculations right!

+1 for Yokesfleet. It's one of those amazing back of beyond feeling places, even though Sarfend is only about 5 miles as the crow flies...

and of course +1 for Fambridge if you want a destination within the two rivers with facilities ashore (received advice is that you cannot (readily at least) get ashore at Paglesham at the moment btw)
