Can anyone suggest where i can buy 8x4 (or similar) sheets of 15mm ish ply with a cream/off white veneer at reasonable price?
I'm refitting the galley and need it for the work surface.

These are usually made to order, minimum order is two sheets unless you are prepared to wait and combine orders. Robinson's Timber in Bristol do it, and many other large sheet timber material suppliers. 8x4 work surface is huge ;) As an alternative you could buy Formica separately and laminate it yourself.

Try shopfitting suppliers - they do stuff called slotboard, but I'm sure they'll do a plain surface as well, just realised the last piece I got was MDF not ply. Try Howdens, or some of the wetwall bathroom suppliers.

Unless it is a huge unsupported area 12mm WPB ply should be OK. For work surface laminate is better and you can do that yourself. Big choice of laminate colours, patterns and suppliers. Try a local kitchen worktop manufacturer.

I would start with C F Anderson -Graham Wharf in N London. Main storage depot is on the A12 on the way to Colchester ( Is it Marks Tey anyone?)
or a long shot- James Latham -Hackney. Both firms will supply retail customers
W T Eden & sons Ltd- Somewhere in kent i seem to recall

When i had my joinery business I would often laminate formica etc for that sort of thing for commercial & non commercial customers so why not try a local joinery works. I certainly did not have a minimum order. For a standard white or cream if i had an offcut I would sell that laminated to ply.

There used to be a few veneerers in the Hackney/Totenham area that might laminate a sheet of formica onto ply for you
H Shawyer & sons might do it- used to be in Stoke Newington but I believe they moved somewhere in Enfield
