So having got rid of all local knowledge by closing the MRCCs the answer is an app. Then the poor souls will have to convert from OS datum to WGS84.

My first thought was that if pretty much everyone was calling it that name then the map was wrong, not that this is additional information. The idea that the map had the “correct” name is nonsense, the name is what people call it.

I think this falls into that class of ”news” which is “journalist learns something“ rather than “something happened”. I remember this Fintan database being set up years ago - as awol says, to attempt to address the problem of watch officers covering much larger areas rather than one familiar patch.
