OK, we have all taken pictures of those weird boats you just can't believe exist......haven't we??? .....I don't mean the ugly boats feature from MBM, but the sort of things you think would be either fun or suicidal to have a go in....

Like this for example...

Look a bit small, but otherwise OK...until you see the outboard is fixed and there is no steering....(apart from a lot of leaning and throttle control!?!)... dare I say it seems a waste of a Honda outboard IMHO..

15HP on that little thing....yeah right, you'd get me to have a go of that unstable thing....looking at it I'd hate to think what happens when it gets a bit air born and lands nose heavy..

My tender with a 5HP gets a bit lively when there's a small chop.

A guy in Bangor Co Down Northern Ireland, about 2 miles from me & next door to my brother is "an agent" for that "bug" thing in the first 2 pics in the original post by Firefly625, I have not seen it in the water, he has and lets just say ...................

I'm sure they were asking around £3500 for the thing as well....... mmm let me think about it for a second! NO!

No you see that's OK, its a small Hyrdoplane, with throttle and steering... all fully controllable while you kneel down and hope for the best. This one owned by a member of the CMBA & being displayed at their annual gathering in Cardiff bay. Did you take the photo...are you a fellow CMBA member???

Not sure if it would be fun or suicidal, but I'm pretty confident it qualifies as one or the other :)

Yes, it's my photo, but I was only visiting Cardiff (2006 - chatted to the bloke who owned the pale blue boat behind the hydroplane for about 1/2 an hour.)

Hi Firefly625, I know who you are...

....oh dear...

BTW I know your boat & had a good look at it, very lovely! I have been in Phill Bywaters boat at Cardiff a couple of times.... very hairy! But I need to get another protect so I can come along to the CMBA events, I am getting boarded not having a boat in my driveway to play with during the winter months!

This was the most unusual thing ive seen yet...

notice the police lights on top,he also had a siren, you would want to have seen the sport cruisers drop speed when they saw him coming along!
