Off to the CTB tomorrow with a couple of jnr staff to prep it for lbs.

At present it stinks , really really stinks .... Is this acceptable and will it add to the experience or shall we give it a good scrub so the public can get within 80 feet of it ?

Answers on a postcard please ...

Depends what it really really stinks of ... if it's soot where you've kept on blowing it up then I doubt you'll get rid of it without destroying the look of the boat - if it's damp yucky sludge then may be worth a swill out and some floor cleaner to make it smell a bit better ... :p

probably full of dead rats. :)

Dare we guess which junior staff are favoured with your supervision tomorrow ?

Smell being the most evocative of the sensations, I'd leave it to reek quietly, so that when people look at it closely, the olfactory reminder to to check the gas system and operation will be very very strong.

(I suspect that something organic - perhaps bilge or rain water - is festering quietly behind what is left of the furniture. Or did Snooks empty the fridge as requested ?)

Personally, I would refrain from having a good look at the damage if the boat reeked. Cleaning it would therefore be a good thing :-)

Thats a good point, as I will be next to it for 10 days I guess it will need a good scrub...I shall get staff members Gelder and Beason on it first thing...

photos ? Of the Marketing Manager and the Editor working ? !!

Should be worth a few quid to have the camera batteries mysteriously fail, or leave the lens cap on, I think.

Well it has suffered a few "accidents". Just to complete the set before taking it to the LBS why not get it run down by a ferry or a supertanker at full speed. That might save some of the cleaning work.

In fact I dont think I'd bother to go look at it after just a few everyday mishaps.

No, I will not bother if it has not also been run down.

Just got home. After being in the Crash Test Boat surrounded by stagnant stinking water I think the cabriolet yacht concept is a no goer.

Paul and Richard did all the hard work, I just drilled holes in the boat to let the water out. Something I wasn't allowed to do on my dads boat when I was a toddler :D
