Craneage costs

Im looking at having Pipedream out for a few weeks to include a couple of hours in the slings to do some work on the keels. Quoted approx £300 at Bradwell to include out, slings for 2 hrs then back in at later date - does this sound right, or does anyone have a comparison ?. Thanks as usual.

Shotley charge £18.10 a metre for a one hour in the slings plus £41.60 for an extra hour, all incl VAT - that's a lot cheaper. Will they negotiate? Shotley were advertising a cheap rate summer lift when I was there a few weeks ago - might be worth a call. Of course your car and all your gubbins will be at Bradwell!

Don't forget you are heading into "busy" season for craneage, and it will be more of a sellers market.

Everyone will be coming out over the next few weeks, so they'll charge what they think they can get away with.

Guapa needed to come out at the start of the season (April) for new anode - was quoted a similar figure by SYH. I was also advised that if I could wait till early May the cost would be a lot less.

May 10th I paid £70 for lift - 2 hrs in the slings - drop

try Carter & Ward at Rochford - not only very cheap craneage, but also very cheap storage.
About 70 something quid a lift and 8 quid a week storage.
Graham is prepared to leave your boat in slings over the weekend for nowt, with a bit of chatting up.

You will be able to observe Full Circle there from November - its my new winter home.

Hoist out £11 per m
Power wash £5 per m

But a Scrub off / Hoist is £14 per m - presumably staying in the slings

Hard standing is £1.85 per m per week Cradle extra if need one

All exclude VAT!

Neptune marina in Ipswich were offering a "before the end of season" lift a couple of weeks ago. I can't find the blurb, but I thought it was about £75 for the basic lift. Give them a call.
