Craighouse moorings are in place as per normal.Personally picked up moorings there twice this season already. I have it in writing that they were serviced this season, despite being somewhat laden with weed.

Plenty of room to anchor with good holding too if you don't want the hassle of picking up a mooring

Yes they have been in place since 1985 they are there all year can't understand two different yachts saying the mooring not in place and they had to anchor.

They have not always been available. A few years ago the moorings were dropped to the seabed and it was a while before they were recovered and put back into service. Craighouse moorings not around

Perhaps, @Duntulm you should link to where you read this, maybe check the date of the what you read as well. Perhaps the moorings were full, and that is what they meant. Craighouse can fill up as a tidal stop waiting for the tide, as well as being an interesting enough place as destination.

I am local but have not been there this year, so can't verify if they are there, and @santana states they are.
