CRAFT Moment Ref Radar Plot

In this months PBO in the Ship & Us Correct use of radar it describes plotting a vessels movements on a plotting sheet. I know that I should know how to do this, but can't remember how. In PBO there is a nice equalateral triangle that they use having taken three fixes from the radar, but I just can't work it out for certain. Please advise.
