Hello,
I thought I would give a short progress report.
The mast is all the way down on my Elizabethan 23 and i have cut out the beam with a multi tool. Took about 1 1/2 hours.
My idea is to laminate the 5.5mm ply strips, so that the new beam forms a mitre with the bulk head. I think the one on the left in 'After' is probably about right? But I need to check before I go ahead.
The single jack is starting to restore the shape of the deck, but I need to get another on the other side of the beam.
When I got the old beam down I realized that nearly half the thickness is grp. It gives the impression that the ply is just acting as a former.
Have been ogling my yard neighbour - a nicholson 32x ?
Fair Winds to all
