Have removed the gel coat on the hull and find a crack at forard corner of the keel flange recess on each side like this:
<a href="http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/Pindenjara/?action=view&current=DSCF2765.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/Pindenjara/DSCF2765.jpg" border="0" alt="Crack2"></a>

Any tips on what to do, she's a Sun Fizz 40 no evidence of water ingress inside hull.

Looks as tho my attempt to post the picture has failed miserably - where do I find dogwatch's crib sheet?

Grind them back to see how far they go. This is a very strong part and there seems to be no sign of deformation so unlikely to be any structural damage. Could have been caused by keel grounding but would expect to see similar at aft end as well. Best to check inside for any delamination of floors etc as well.

Yes, doesnt seem to be any damage at aft end of keel box or any distortion anywhere and as you say this does seem to be a very strong area. I will have a closer look inside.

Agree about possible cause. Not sure that a lack of deformation proves that there is no structural damage. Remove gel coat and inside flow coat. Only then will delamination deep in the laminate be seen as darker areas when light is shone through.

you would only get permanent deformation if the laminate had failed so lack of deformation doesnt prove lack of damage. The crack is a classic sign of keel impact. I'd be inclined to pay for a surveyor since the repair need doing right. And I would be inclined to check the aft part by grinding off the gelcoat since it would be easy to re-instate when doing the front part of the keel mount, and its usual to see damage at both ends.

Thanks for the comments guys, gel coat is all off now. No cracks aft but have yet to look detailed inside forard. Will post outcome in a few weeks.
