Just over 2 months to go until the Cowes Classic Powerboat Rally.

This year is a special celebration of 50 years of Triana Boats.

If you have an older boat, with offshore race pedigree, check out our facebook page.

The appearance of our Triana Odyssey hangs very much in the balance. We launched her this week after being out of the water for many months and we were hoping for sea trials to commence. However as with all good plans, a previous owners bodge became all too apparent after 60 minutes on tickover one engine blew a handful of car filler out into the bilge from a place hidden behind an exhaust manifold and proceeded to sound like a F1 car. Upon stripping the head we have found the remnants of at least 2 previous attempts to seal the number 4 exhaust port, new head required!!!

We have a 1983 Sunseeker Portofino 25 and although not quite the pedigree, I do hope we'll get up as spectators one year soon. Doubtful for this year, but on bucket list and we already follow the page. We do support the CTC from this end of the course though so would make a change to do the start/finish and the Classic :encouragement:

Just stumbled across this.

I was a teenager in the 1960s' watching Powerboat 66, Cowes / Torquay / Cowes and all that. Surfury. Tramontana. Max Aitken. Wow what a heady memory, I've got to try and see this and if my lottery numbers come up I'll try and get a boat :)

I wondered how you are getting on. We have you on a list to follow up.

Good luck getting fixed.
