toddled down to cowes yesterday to see what all this powerboat racing is all about.Probably about as many boats watching as could be coped with, but was surprised there werent more spectators. Although i think the RYS marshalls tried to keep people in the right place, i dont think they realised how wide those two first boats were going to swing wide at the end of the first circuit ! My goodness, i thought I was going to be onboard Sony, for a moment ! Never pushed the throttle forward so hard. After that first circuit, there was alot of sheperding us further back, but seeing that boat coming (seemingly) straight for us at 100mph on a long sweeping turn is definitely one boating experience i wont be forgetting!
