Coverting lewmar genoa cars to towable ones?

Went through this search some years ago because the sheaves had gone flat and ended up buying Lewmar cars again!

You could try Barton?

Be very careful if you consider buying Barton to check that the cars run OK. Lewmar and Barton 32mm track differ in some dimensions. I have Lewmar track and bought some Barton slide on cleats. They do not fit without some modification as the plunger does not retract far enough. They are obviously a looser fit on Barton track. This might not apply to towable cars but worth checking first if at all possible.

we have Goiot 32mm tracks on Oceanis 393.
Got end pieces with sheave and the car was already of the towable type.
Check in Navimo/Goiot website for measures and details, might be worth.

I know many brother across the pond are very fond of Garahuer products but never had a chance to see or try. Ops, Their site seems expired....but they exist on FB.
Cheers

IME, there are a number of variations of 32mm track- the main difference being the thickness of the top of the "T". Most of the hole sizes are either 10mm or 12mm, but I don't have a Lewmar catalogue handy. Going the towable route means doesn't mean you don't use the pin- for cruising I'd recommend pinning the cars anyway. Slap a cheek-block at the fwd end of the track for starters, then see whether you need extra purchase.
I have to recommend Antal cars as a replacement, because you can add sheaves should you wish, but there are any number of options in 32mm size...

I have old Lewmar 32 genoa track with plunger style cars. Does anyone have any advice on adapting or changing to towable ones. New cars and end stops to suit are about £150 each, ouch. Any ideas?

Some Lewmar cars are convertible. The sheaves are still available from Lewmar who have a very good website. Bainbridge may be able to help if you can get them interested.
