coventry apex 50 outboard motor parts needed

can anyone help me locate parts for my coventry outboard. I am in desperate need of piston rings. It would be a shame to scrap this engine all because some idiot blocked the water cooling system and fried the rings. Also any information on said engine would be appreciated.

take a good piston ring to a decent motorfactor and see if he can match it. If all else fails, you might have to have the bore ground to cope with a slightly bigger ring

regards for that information, someone else has given me similar info. I am going to look at garden equipment to see if the rings are the same size, motorcycle rings are thinner and would need a piston to be milled to shape. regards daran

Go to the specialist motor factors that supply the garages and they have the data on most piston rings, or knowledge of where else to go.
