Cove stripe. Paint or Vinyl ( UV issues)

I made a mess of painting my cove lines ( Paint ran under masking tape in places) 5 years ago and think it is time to redo them!I plan to strip the paint off with a paste type remover ( its on good gel coat) and then redo. I guess that 15mm tape would be easier and professional but would it fade more quickly than paint?Thanks as always!

Good quality cast vinyl should be good for a while. The cheaper calendared vinyl doesn't last nearly as long.

As Matt wrote, suitable vinyl. It lasts on Greek vans, so should handle the UV in your neck of the woods.

I am interested in the life of vinyl striping so I am aware that cheap striping only has a life of a few years. But good quality vinyl should last six or seven years. This claim by an eBay seller would seem to back that up.
"This striping will not need transfer-tape and has a 6 to 8 year outdoor life, depending on location and color"

This crowd even has "Go fast" tapes. (Based in Southampton)
