I would be grateful for anyone's input on the following:

1) Are the courtesy flags for the Netherlands Antilles, Bermuda, and the Azores the same as those of The Netherlands, the UK, and Portugal and if not, could the European country's flags be used in place of those protectorates/principalities/colonies?

2) Can anyone tell me where on this planet I might find hard-to-find courtesy flags (preferrably in the UK)? Most European courtesy flags can be found at a number of chandlers both off and on line. It is finding flags relative to question 1) above that I'm concerned about.

Many thanks....

The only courtesy flag tp be aware of is the North coast of Spain when you shouldn't use the Spanish flag in the Basque regions....or at least it might make you seem less than popular.

in a colony you can fly the flag of the 'owning' country but each of the places you mention has its own flag.

the netherlands antilles is a white flag with red vertical stripe overlaid by a light blue horizontal stripe with a cluster of 5 white stars.

the azores is halved, dark blue at the hoist & white at the fly, overlaid with gold eagle and arc of gold stars above.

bermuda is a defaced red ensigh.

a british registered boat doesn't need a courtesy flag in bermuda

jimmy green carries a good stock of flags including most but not all for the caribbean.
