She has just taken up sailing and this is her first real trip out and the 2 of them, him 55 and she 23 are going to be locked away for 1000 days without touching land?
Sounds more like a liklihood of 'broken heart' rather than 'heart shaped'! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Isn't that the guy who did the "Voyage of the Turtle" a long meander in the shape of a turtle an was last heard heading off for a 1000 day one with only his cat after his previous girl friend declined?

If I remember right he will be bathed in rays of love emanating from his friends in New York.

Sounds mad as a brush to me!!!

Don't really want to put the kibosh on their (or his) dream, but I does anyone know of a boat that has been at sea for 3yrs without needing some sort of major work doing - usually something that requires a haul out?
To me, part of the fun of sailing is making landfall after a few weeks - i can't imagine seeing nothing but sea for 3yrs - i'm sure i'd go completely batty!

Good luck to them anyway.

What a complete waste of time. Isnt at least half the pleasure of cruising in visiting places? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yep I have to agree. I planned on spending 2 weeks in Portimao and stayed for over four months.
