Walked up the bank today from Kew to Hampton Court. Very odd on the tidal Thames, the water was 'ebbing' but the level was rising. Guess the barrier went up at LW to reserve the lower reaches for river water. Strange to see.

Only saw one racing shell - usually there are dozens. Lot of canoeists, very few power boats, tripper boats were out in force. No sailing dinghies.

Stream was really moving, probably fastest at Raven's Ait, where one tripper boat was barely moving faster over the ground than our walking pace.

This is only my second year on the Thames, yet it feels like I've been here for an age due to the people I have met and friends I have made.

I either need to go sober, or stop talking to people... or both (SWMBO preference).

BUT:

I agree. Erm, what was the question?
