With the usual expression of no connections etc...I put a post on here a while back;'£1k and a weeks free pass, what should I do?'.
The forum pointed me in the direction of the Classic Sail website and I eventually booked a week aboard Bessie-Ellen in the Canaries. She's an astonishing 1904 wooden ship and where she lacked winches and dyneema she more than made up in character, the best weeks food I've ever eaten and great sailing experiences. If you have the chance take a look www.bessie-ellen.com or book a place and extend your life and in so doing, help this great piece of our maritime heritage to keep afloat.
Hope to be able to do it again one day...but don't tell my family!
