Does anyone have experience of the rivers that lead inland from
CARENTAN (River Douve to St Sauveur) and ISIGNY (River Vire to St Lo)?
These are mapped as being navigable but do tell me more please!

At Carentan there is the canal that leads through the lock to the marina in the town. The estuary dries completely at low tide. I have seen both rivers from various roads and they don't look navigable. The lower reaches are tidal and muddy ditches at low water. IIRC the bridge carrying the new road just north of Carentan does not seem to have much clearance. The canal crosses via a bridge.

Not much help really!

I've beenup to Carentan a couple of times in a sailing yacht that drawers 1.6m.
First time was near HW neaps and we were ploughing our way. Second time was mid neaps / srings and no problems at all...
Quite a nice quiet french town..plenty of shops...
Not been down the other river ' St Lo' ? so can't say much there...

Apologies for any confusion, but I know Carentan quite well, being the first British yacht to enter the new lock when it opened in 1982; we were presented with a free bottle of wine in acknowledgement.
For the unitiated I recommend Featherstone's Cruising Companion which includes a graph of entry times related to tidal coefficients and your draft.

But this is a different ballgame, exploring inland waterways in my fishing boat, specifically the rivers Douve, Taute and Vire inland from Carentan and Isigny. French tourist guides show attractive streams and some small craft - but are they accessible from the sea?
Any info appreciated, just think 'canals'!
