For anyone cruising the Costa Del Sol in the summer, you may find that some Harbours are getting a bit tight to get in.
As usual, winter storms have shovelled lots of sand into the entrances to marinas but dredging has not yet begun.
The ones Ive been to this year are:
La Bajadilla, Marbella. Shoaling on the breakwater side, marked by a string of Starboard hand buoys.
Puerto Banus. Same as above.
La Duqeuesa. Narrow channel marked both sides. Very shallow between the two larger marks, about 1.7 at chart datum.... had a few of those tides recently and one of -0.1.
Just across the Straits, Marina Smir. West side marked by a couple of reds. Again down to less than 2 m at low water. There are one or two boats in there that will struggle to get out!
I will certainly avoid all of the above in any sort of Easterly swell.
Will post if any dredging gets started this year. :encouragement:
