The Costa Concordia incident was a great tragedy and there is no excuse for the loss of life but I for one was fascinated by how they were going to remove the wreck and for so long the whole story has gone quiet. Here is the latest report on how they are going to do it and wow what a great operation, we all move boats around and flip over small dinghies but this is real big boys stuff and wouldn’t we all love to be part of this....or is it just me!

Yes reported in these forums a few times recently. Why not peek at the progress.

Thanks. Yep, the engineering here is extraordinary and fascinating. The lead salvage company have details on their website but I've forgotten the url. They have an almost daily update saying which tasks in the job have been completed. AFAIK there is much more to do and the ship will be floated off this summer

Thanks for bringing this link to my attention DW, have often wondered what was going on with the wreck. This is pretty clever stuff, and can understand why it's so time consuming and consequently expensive.
