I'm trying to decide weather it's worth heading from the Med for Cowes week maybe to do a couple of charters and then head back down to the Med. Does anyone have a clue what a 111ft Classic Motoryacht could charter for during Cowes week? I guess it may be a daily rate although we normally charter weekly.
I've looked all over the Net and found nothing similar giving prices.

My mate's <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.seafin.co.uk/>classic 75'</A> charters out at £5k/day but pretty much set up just for day charters now.

Quite possibly. I'm sure that he'll already be booked and may be able to find you a charter. Give them a call if you like and ask for Warwick Bergin.

I went past Seafin today, went for a bimble, could not help but notice its got a tiny piddly little anchor. Like, about half the size it should be.

There is a newish Oyster 82 that is berthed at Berthon Lymington that currently charters around the Solent for 4K/per day. Can't remember the name off the boat off hand. But there is a write up on her in Jan'05 YM.

Although you will be burning lots more fuel !

Think is called Bare Necessities.

If it's still the same one as I remember then I agree but it certainly never gave any problems in the 5 years that I spent my weekends on her. It's quite surprising really as he normally errs on the large side such as his penchant for <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.bosshoss.com/view_bike.asp?x=BHC3502&cid=965882724.480953.472831>V8 Mopeds</A> /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Fuel isn't too bad, we burn 25 gph at cruising speed which is ten knots.
10 k a day is a possibility during Cowes???
I've got to allow for missed charters in the week either side of Cowes and the cost of the fuel getting from the Med, even at 10k a day still not sure it's economical?

Re: eh?

This is raving mad, imho. Park up in the med, then get nice weekly charter where people have a villa as well. Majorca or south france is where most charter starts. Cowes will be cold, take at least a week to get there, and probably only for a few days charter.

You wd need to consider insurance issues as well - standard clauses often don't cover biscay crossing 15th august- 1st april, and even if they do, erm, it's a potentially rough anyway.

Re: eh?

The owner wants to do a spell in the UK so I'm just seeing if we can make it financially rewarding, if it's not he probably won't bother!!

I know the biscay is a bit of a nasty spot.

Not sure where you would get a berth during that period.
Could try

Thanks for that.

Haslar say they can't fit us in. Gunn Wharf seem really keen so may head there. They seem fairly well priced too.

It's looking good foir me to come home for the summer!!!!
