Cost of retro fitting a high low platform?

Are these basically off the shelf with a custom platform to the boat, or is it a 100% custom job?

What sort of cost for a 55ft boat? I sort of think £10k-15k but accept I might be way out. Would need to be strong enough to take a rib/jet ski.

can fully recommand h+b, also used by Fairline and Bavaria
the people are very easy to deal with.
your estimate price is more or less ok, (DIY installation) or slightly more depending on options; teak, swim ladder, tender cradle, ..
mine was 23k euro all options included, 1000kg max weight, with the biggest size GRP platform
they have smaller versions and smaller GRP platforms aswell.

the GRP platform (3 sizes available iirc) have a shape so that these can be adated to almost any boat.

their standard platform with teac (for the biggest size 4500 euro iirc) is much cheaper then a custom job (9k in the Italian yard)

Did you use a custome platform or the standard one?

I guess the standard does not nicely fit the back of the boat and leaves a gap?

we had the standard one,
we gave them a drawing of the shape of the mating fixed platform,
and then they have cut away that shape in their standard GRP plate,
then they placed a thick teak border, see last pic,
which we had to grind and sand, and acheeved almost 100% perfect fitting

Mind you, moodynick would just use it as an opportunity to charge me more for berthing.

I spoke to the H+B Technics guys at METS in November. Their range of standard platforms starts surprisingly small, and if you're up for a diy installation you can definitely do it for £10k. (I've got some numbers in my office somewhere but I'm down on the boat at the moment, sorry). If you look at their website they do have a list (and in some cases pics) of boats they've already done. If you're doing this in the UK you could probably get someone like Osmotech to mod a standard platform to make it suit the profile of the boat more closely - cheaper than having a whole custom platform fabricated.

H+B adapted their standard (of the shelf) platform to mate my fixed part,
no need for any other modification, and a lot cheaper then a curstom made.
(just a bit of grinding and sanding for the final touch)
