As a warning to anyone considering Cosmote for their mobile internet:

We signed up for an 18 month contract back in Jan/Feb this year. This was for 20gb/month at €25/month. This was on a special offer, the usual price is €40/month.

We knew we wouldn't be in the country for the 18 months, we would only need about half the contract. We discussed this with the lady in Germanos when we got the contract, and she said we would be able to cancel at any time with a €40 fee.

Today we went to cancel the contract, however they have now gone back on their word and are telling us that because our contract is a special offer, we are not able to cancel for the usual €40 fee, instead it's going to cost us €180 to cancel. Had they told us this at the time, we never would've taken the contract and gone with a different option.

Total BS. In the UK, I know what I would do, but this is Greece, so they just take the piss and shaft you over a barrel whilst laughing at you.

So, to anyone dealing with Cosmote - BE WARNED!

The SIM is on my Dad's Cosmote account as he lives in Corfu and has several different SIMs with them for various reasons - hence the reason we were able to get the contract in the first place.

He's going to try locally but would any cruisers be interested in taking on the SIM? There's an online portal to check your usage. PM if you're interested.
