Thanks

How many hours, service history what age etc.

I have two Ford 250hp Sabres, like your Perkins, good reliable lumps, 100% mechanical with no ECUs to interfere with a simple combination of fuel, air and compression (but maybe a bit more smoke and fuel consumption).

We put an offer in on a Corvette, lovely boat. The VP engines smoked a bit which didn't put us off but one fuel tank had been replaced, the other hadn't and an awkward seller put us off in the end.

You’d probably get more responses on the mobo forum…..
There is a Corvette owners club you could look at/join…
Personally I’d prefer Perkins to the other options as long as they’ve been looked after…..seen a few for sale over the years with these engines so it wouldn’t be an odd one….
I’d be more interested in the condition of the fuel tanks and teak decks.
Lovely boats.

Great engine and should cruise at 20/22 knots , now the weak point is turbo,s and where sea water joins exhaust, have them checked.

The website presently is not monitored because since I sold my Corvette no one else has been able to take up the website, but that might change soon.

More active is the owner's group ...

I was never aware of any Corvette with the Sabres, but my current Grand Banks has them and they are good sturdy engines. Indeed they propel this 12 tonne boat to 16 knots with a clea hull and props, so should get the considerably lighter and smaller Corvette at least to 18 knots, assuming the props are right.
