I've got a Corus instrument setup of depth, speed and heading and following a 'partial immersion' the heading indicator no longer works. It looks like the Navico fluxgate compass is shot (coroded inside) and I can't get another as both Corus and Navico don't exist. Raymarine helpdesk, when asked about an equivalent, just didn't want to know.

The instrument and sensor also operate the autohelm and doesn't seem to go through any NMEA interface at present. Can anyone suggest a way forward, either equivalent fluxgate or simple (cheap) replacement?

I use an Azimuth 2000 with remote sensor for heading data, connected to the plotter via NMEA. Not especially cheap, but then Fluxgate compasses/heading sensors aren't.
