I have a Maxi 95 (built late 70s) and recently the Aluminium steering quadrant has started to corrode quite rapidly.
There seems to be a bit of water weeping from the top of the rudder post - I cant see any obvious way of improving the seal. Should there be a seal/stuffing box?
Other thought is to replace the quadrant- any idea where one can source a 13 inch radius quadrant?
The other angle on this is - is it a common problem? ...what do people do?
