Having mislaid a prop for my Mercury OB in July/August (Anyone at Largs Found one? I would still like to be reunited). I have purchased a replacement.
My boat 23ft Jeanneau Tonic Sailing cruiser, my outboard: 8HP Mercury originally supplied with standard propeller (I believe).
I replaced this with a Mercury Prop with 9.75" Dia and 6.5" pitch. It seemed to give greater control at low speed but required more revs to get same speed when motoring to get somewhere. This was the propeller I lost.
I have now bought a replacement with a 9.25" Dia. and 7" pitch. Anyone know what difference I am likely to notice if any?
I am hoping it will give me the same speed at slightly reduced revs when motoring without noticeably loosing the control when manouervring at low speed, is this likely?
