Time for the annual oil change.

Can anyone tell me the best oil to use ?

I have used "Comma Semi Synthetic 15w-40" from my local motor factors. It has the folowing on the label :-

ACEA B3 B4 E3 API CF CF4

The engines are Hino W06-dti Turbo inter cooled 250hp.

Any thoughts would be welcome

Paul

I have used Castrol's Magnatec but have economised back to Shell Rimula X and slightly more frequent changes as the experts have suggested this to be a better way of keeping my engine happy. Designed for modern turbo tractors etc

I suspect Valvoline would be similar.

I believe CF4 is the same underlying grade (high)

I tried the 15w40 cheapo stuff from Halfords which says ok for all non-turbo diesels (meets the CD rating however so shirly should have been ok?), and although the turbos turn, I don't think they give the full boost as I never hear them whistle at full throttle. Manual says something about too high an oil pressure, or too high an oil level can soak up boost, but I'm pretty sure its not the level. I was going to try a semi-synthetic this month, see if that helped. Engines are 2x ad41a's.
