Dear all,

I have recently had my mast Awl griped and now have to replace the track etc, unfortunatly due to the screws being St/St I have been advised to use a grease to stop a electrolythic reaction between metals, can anyone advise please as I am keen to minamise any corrosion.

You haven't said but I assume your mast is Aluminium; the stuff to use on the screws is Duralac, which is a yellow paste containing zinc bromate(or is it bromide? I forget). This will reduce the reaction between the mast and the screws.

Because you're small,...small,...S, M, all.

David,

You are correct, the mast is aluminium and the product you mention sound familiar, have you any idea where I might get this?

Most boatyards and rigging shops will have it, and some chandlers.

You will get Duralac, zinc chromite paste by post from [www.zsparsuk.com=link]here[/url]

A small tube will last for a long time. It is relatively inexpensive.
