Cornwall for the Bank Holiday

Arrived in Plymouth Yacht Haven around 1pm this afternoon, fuel was below half so filled up.

For anyone interested, the trip out to Falmouth and back as far as Plymouth we burned 960 litres and covered 226 Nm.

A good portion of this was at 10-12 knots with a head sea and force 4-5 on the nose.

Suffice to say todays trip back to Plymouth with wind and sea behind us was much more pleasant and was done at around 18 knots. Still quite a bit of swell in the channel though.

Wind is supposed to drop a little more tomorrow so planning another longer leg, will head for Portland and get across Lyme Bay.

The Torbay airshow starts tomorrow, I believe the Red Arrows are there for both days, so maybe worth a quick detour. It is an excellent show.

Thanks LJS,

We actually live just a couple of miles from the Red Arrows home airfield, it's a long run tomorrow without taking the dog ashore so will just push on to Portland.

Got back to Lymington at lunchtime today after an overnight stop in Portland. Beautiful day today, if only it could have been like this all week!

We did a further 144.82 Nm from Plymouth to Portland to Lymington, refuelled again in Lymington and took on another 677 litres.

So the trip was a total of 370 Nm and used 1637 litres of diesel.
